Website Disclaimer
kdeconnect.org is an independent informational website dedicated to helping users learn about and access KDE Connect. We built this site because we genuinely appreciate what KDE Connect does — bridging the gap between phones and computers in ways that just work.
That said, we want to be upfront about a few things. This site is not run by, associated with, or endorsed by the KDE Community or KDE e.V. We do not speak on their behalf. Any product names, logos, and trademarks mentioned here — including KDE Connect, the KDE logo, and related marks — are the property of their respective owners. We reference them purely for identification and informational purposes, not to suggest any kind of endorsement or official partnership.
No Affiliation or Association
To put it plainly: we are fans, not officials. kdeconnect.org is independently operated and has no formal connection to the KDE project or any of its contributors.
The information we share about KDE Connect comes from publicly available sources — official documentation, release notes, community forums, and our own experience using the software. If you need official support, want to report bugs, or have questions about KDE Connect development, please visit the official KDE Connect page at kdeconnect.kde.org.
Download & File Hosting
We do not host KDE Connect software files on our servers. All download links on this site point to original, official sources:
- The official KDE download servers
- GitHub repositories maintained by the KDE team
- Google Play Store and other official app stores
- Microsoft Store listings published by the developers
We never modify, repackage, or alter any software files. What you download comes directly from the original distribution channel. However, since these files live on external servers outside our control, we cannot guarantee their availability at all times. We recommend always verifying that your download source matches the official KDE Connect distribution channels.
No Warranty
Everything on this website — guides, feature descriptions, system requirements, version numbers — is provided “as is” with no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. We do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, but software changes frequently. A version number listed here might be outdated by the time you read it. A feature we describe might work differently in the latest release.
We make no guarantees about completeness, accuracy, or timeliness. If something looks off, check the official KDE Connect documentation for the most current details.
Limitation of Liability
Using any software you find through this site is entirely your responsibility. kdeconnect.org and its operators are not liable for:
- Damage to your computer, data, or system
- Loss of data or productivity
- Security issues that arise from downloaded software
- Compatibility problems with your hardware or operating system
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Before installing KDE Connect or any software, you should:
- Verify the download source is legitimate
- Run an antivirus scan on downloaded files
- Back up important data before making system changes
- Confirm the software is compatible with your setup
Respect for Developers
KDE Connect exists because talented developers in the KDE Community volunteer their time and skills to build free, open-source software. We have enormous respect for that work. This site was created to help more people discover KDE Connect — not to compete with or undermine the official project.
We encourage every user to support the KDE Community:
- Contribute to KDE development if you have the skills
- Donate to KDE e.V. to support ongoing open-source work
- Report bugs through the official KDE bug tracker
- Respect the GPL v2+ license under which KDE Connect is released
- Share KDE Connect with friends and family who could benefit from it
Fair Use & DMCA Policy
The content on this site — feature descriptions, setup guides, screenshots, and comparison articles — is created for informational and educational purposes. This falls under the Fair Use doctrine as:
- Commentary and informational coverage of publicly available software
- Educational guides helping users set up and use KDE Connect
- Factual reporting about software features and capabilities
We respect copyright law and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
